Government college, Hindaun City is one of the leading Institution of higher education in the eastern part of Rajasthan’s Karauli district. Hindaun City is recognised as the city of Bhakt Prahlad. Geographically this city lies about 160 kms of the east of the state capital. Karauli district is also recognised as Aspirational District by NITI AAYOG in 2018.
The College came in to existence in 1977 with Arts Stream at UG Level. In continuation B.Com launched in 1991 and promoted to PG level in 2013 in Hindi Literature, Science along with Math and Bio in 2017 and State Government offered PG Courses in Political Science, Mathematics as well Chemistry also from the current year. At present there are 10 subject in Arts, 5 Subjects in Science and 4 Subjects in Commerce at the Graduation Level. There are 2 subjects in Arts as well as 2 in Science at Post Graduation Level.
The college was initially affiliated to Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati University, Ajmer but in compliance with the state government orders came to be affiliated to University of Kota, Kota since the inception of this university. The College was established in 1977. Government College Hindaun City was recognized by the UGC under 2f and 12B in the year 2003.
It was accredited with grade B by NAAC in the Second cycle accreditation in the year 2016. The college boasts of impressive infrastructure and ample open space. Full and timely utilization of grants from the state government, UGC and RUSA has ensured continued progress in infrastructure and equipment. The college expects its graduates to be knowledgeable, proficient in communication and analytical skills, critical thinking and global in their understanding and perspectives. We prepare the students to be scholars, innovators, professionals in various fields and leaders in civil society. Since its establishment in 1977, the college has evolved remarkably towards achieving its goals, continually improving its quality in every aspect with a strategic planning. The majority of the students enrolled in this college belong to the schedule caste, scheduled tribe and OBC coming from the rural background. it is a positive fact that girls’ enrolment ratio is 60% out of total admission. The Co-education institution largely endeavours to make all students responsible and successful citizens.
